Card Creation Basics

Your HypeU card is more than a digital collectible—it’s a showcase of your athletic journey. The way you design your card determines how fans connect with you, how collectors value your work, and how much long-term income you can generate. By understanding tiers, templates, and visuals, you’ll be ready to create cards that stand out and sell.

Step 1

Overview of Card Tiers

HypeU cards are available in three main tiers—Common, Epic, and Legendary. Each tier is designed to appeal to a different level of fan and collector demand.

  • Common – The most accessible tier with higher availability and lower pricing. These cards are designed for every fan, giving them an affordable way to support and own a piece of your journey.
  • Epic – A limited-supply tier created for serious collectors who want something more exclusive. Epic cards often feature premium frames, career highlights, or unique designs.
  • Legendary – The ultimate collector’s item. Legendary cards are extremely limited—sometimes just one-of-a-kind—and carry the highest prestige, resale potential, and royalty earnings.

A smart strategy is to mint a mix: Commons to build reach, Epics to drive mid-level collector interest, and Legendaries to create scarcity and demand.

Step 2

Choosing Templates and Premium Frames

Your card’s template defines its overall design and layout, while premium frames give it a polished, collectible feel.

  • Templates – Choose from sport-specific designs that highlight your athletic background (e.g., football, basketball, baseball). Templates make your card instantly recognizable and relevant to your sport.
  • Premium Frames – Options like Classic, Ice, Gold, and Smoke give your card a distinct edge. For example:
    • Use Classic frames for Common cards.
    • Choose Ice or Smoke frames for Epic cards.
    • Highlight Legendary cards with Gold frames to emphasize rarity and prestige.

By combining templates and frames, you can create a consistent visual brand identity while also signaling value to collectors.

Step 3

Adding Player Images, Action Shots, or Highlights

The imagery you choose is what makes your card come alive. Each tier can feature a different type of visual to match its exclusivity:

  • Common Cards – Use a clean headshot or team image that fans instantly recognize.
  • Epic Cards – Feature action shots that capture you in motion: a dunk, a goal, a spike, or a celebration moment.
  • Legendary Cards – Include premium visuals like exclusive photos, behind-the-scenes shots, or even highlight reels and short clips (if supported).

Always stick to HD quality, watermark-free images that reflect your authentic journey. The stronger the visuals, the more attractive your card becomes to collectors.

Tips for Strong Card Design

  • Keep your brand consistent across all cards.
  • Use scarcity wisely—the fewer the Legendaries, the higher the demand.
  • Add short captions, slogans, or milestones to connect emotionally with fans.
  • Think from a collector’s perspective: “Would I be excited to own this card?”
